Community Involvement
A big part of what makes Cabot so special is the community in which we are located.
We are proud to call Nova Scotia our home, and we are so fortunate to be supported by the Cape Breton and Inverness community. The natural beauty of the landscape and generosity of Cape Breton’s people is the foundation upon which our golf resort was built. As we continue to grow, we are always looking for new ways to give back to the community that surrounds us. See below for an overview of our ongoing programs!
NSCC Sponsor a Student Scholarship
The NSCC Sponsor a Student Scholarship program launched in Nova Scotia Community Colleges across the province in 2017. The program provides financial assistance for up to two NSCC students per year in the form of an educational credit valued at $1,500-$2,500, work place experience, and one season of full-time employment to eligible students who meet the criteria. Still in its early phases, we look forward to seeing this program grow. We would like to congratulate our two recipients for the 2019 season: Dylan Grey and Ryan Foreman . Both were members of our culinary team last season, who worked hard, always had a great attitude and were eager to learn. We were so pleased to have them back on our team for the 2019 season!
United Way Cape Breton
United Way Cape Breton works to help meet the basic needs of our community’s most vulnerable people, giving every local member the opportunity to realize a better future. Since 2014, Cabot has worked in partnership with United Way Cape Breton to raise funds to support various non-profit organizations. Cabot donates 200 rounds of golf to United Way Cape Breton each year, and UWCB sells them to the Cape Breton community for just $60 per round. The goal of this program is two-fold: to raise money for United Way Cape Breton, and to make our resort more financially accessible to our fellow Capers! Together with United Way Cape Breton, we have raised over $50,000 since 2014.
Donations
We hope to make a difference through corporate donations, sponsorships, and the volunteer spirit of our employees. We regularly donate rounds of golf and accommodations throughout the year in support of various charitable causes that align with our values. These donations amount to significant funds raised by the organizations via auction or ticket sales. Please contact us for any further details.
