Frequently Asked Questions

Where can we stay?

At our Cabot Links Lodge, of course! We have rooms and villas available.

How do I get to Cabot Cape Breton?

You can find all the information you need under Getting Here.

What type of attire is appropriate?

Typical golf attire—golf shirts and pants or walking shorts, with soft spike shoes.

At our dining restaurants and outlets, the dress code is golf casual. No jackets required.

What is the weather like?

Daytime temperatures in Inverness range between 16 – 24°C (60 – 75°F), reaching a potential high of 29°C (85°F) in July and August. The course can be windy, but then again, what great links course isn’t? We suggest wearing layers with a windbreaker (or a rain jacket, just in case).

Are there golf carts?

Both Cabot Links and Cabot Cliffs are walking-only courses. We offer carts for people who have genuine mobility-related disabilities. Please call ahead to ensure availability.

Do you have caddies?

Cabot Cape Breton offers traditional caddying, which involves both the golfer and the caddie walking the course. Expertly trained, our caddies at Cabot Cape Breton hope to boost your game and lower your score.

Caddies are not required however they are recommended, especially if it is your first time playing our courses. They offer course knowledge, assistance with the round as well as local knowledge of the area.

Caddies are on a request only basis until 72 hours prior to arrival at which time our golf team schedule according to demand. Caddies are paid directly and accept CAD or USD currency.

For more information, visit our Caddie Services page.

Dining requests

Reservations for Panorama restaurant may be made via OpenTable seven days prior to arrival or by calling our reservations team at 855-652-2268.

What other activities are there nearby?

In the immediate vicinity, Inverness Beach borders Cabot Links (and beyond!). It boasts the warmest water north of the Carolinas and is staffed with lifeguards every day of the summer. If you have the energy to walk after a round, there are numerous paths and hiking trails, so bring good shoes and your camera.

Live music is an integral part of culture, with Gaelic song and dance experienced at local music venues, restaurants, and pubs—day and night. Be sure to check out The Inverness County Centre for the Arts, which features local artwork and has a charming gift shop. On Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons, harness racing is alive and well at the track in town. Bring a few dollars and bet on your favourite horse!

But this is just a taste of all the activities waiting for you in Inverness and the rest of Cape Breton! Check out all the things to do on the island, and start planning an unforgettable getaway today.
